The stories in the book are mainly divided into two categories: One is
to expose the ugly face of some people in the capitalist society through
small stories, and the article is sharp and satirical. For example,
"Faithful Friends" tells the story: the poor gardener Hans is
loyal and selfless, ready to help others. The rich grinders are selfish,
cold and heartless. He exploited and pillaged little Hans anytime and
anywhere under the pretext of a "loyal" friend. He picked a
bunch of flowers from little Hans one day and a handful of herbs the
next. "True friends should share everything." And he didn't
pay anything for himself. He often sent little Hans to work for him
without pay. In the end, poor little Hans fell into the marsh and died
on a dark and stormy night while seeking medical help for the son of a
flour grinder. I shed tears for little Hans' tragic experience, and I
was indignant at the selfishness, ruthlessness and cruelty of the flour
grinder. I learned about the dark side of capitalist society through the
stories in the article. The capitalists are ruthless, yet live a rich
life. The working people are simple and kind, but they live in poverty.
What an unequal society it is! The other kind of stories in the book
are about people who have good hearts despite being born into a race, in
a high place, in a position of power. They are loved and remembered
equally. For example, "The Happy Prince" tells the story of a
statue of a fast prince and a kind little swallow. The statue of the
Happy Prince was full of wonderful things, but he saw that many poor
people did not have enough food and warm clothes. He let the little
swallow give them his jewelry, and he became bald and ugly. But inside
he was happy. This story tells me, give someone roses, hands have
lingering fragrance. When a person selflessly helps others, they are happier.
