In the book The Spirit of the Chinese People written by Mr. Gu， there is an article entitled "Women in China", in which the Chinese "female ideal" is elaborated. It is concluded that Chinese women belong to selfless "selfless teachings" and have the characteristics of gentleness, shyness and patience - and take pride in it.
It is not that conflict of love between husband and wife that affects the happiness of the family and is a promote. The protection and love of the woman by the male is reflected against the wife's scolds and insults. It's kind of funny, because if a man doesn't have a concubine, then he doesn't have the possibility of a wife being abused by another woman in the family, or even a claim, what's the point of protection? what is the claim? It is never too late to love.
The author agrees that concubinage is an irritating and unacceptable thing to accept another woman to share a husband and live together with herself, but through such seemingly noble appreciation as "self-forgetting education", he arbitrarily believes that Chinese women will not have the above psychological feelings because of selflessness, and will not make a scene with their husbands. So he uses a "high hat". Son rationalized concubinage again. In my opinion, this is a kind of "moral kidnapping" and a cunning argument for the bad habit of concubinage. When making women "selfless education", men and women have been placed in an unequal position, and then given such a high name, so that women bear the moral pressure from society, a little resistance, will be added to the unnecessary evil accusation. Women who have no choice but to bow their heads silently endure their husbands taking concubines - such obedient actions strengthen people's recognition of "selfless education". Under the vicious circle, concubines eventually become a reasonable behavior recognized by the whole society. Under "moral kidnapping", poor women can only selflessly forget themselves.
