The background of this book is Roaring Twenties . I want to show my opinion that the reason of the exists of these ugly aspects .  The United States was at the crossroads of the new world and old world . The increasing development of bourgeoisie , made American rapidly stepped into the modern society from the agricultural civilization . What’s more . Because the world war two , Americans became rich easily . People pursued wealth crazily . People lost themselves easily . The rise of Hedonism was dreadful .
