The characteristic of the old man

 In The Old Man and the Sea, the author set the old man in the miserable situation, but the old man still faced his life positively. Even when he went 84 days without a harvest and was laughed at by others, he still believed that he would catch a big fish.  When facing the hardship of life, this frail old man did not give up and showed  no pessimism. He did not complain about the injustice of life and did not give up, but chose to face it optimistically.
