影响Carrie的内外因素

the first one is the social reality. The time of the  story is in the late of 19 century, which is century woshiping money and oppression of women. in this kind of background, carrie as a poor girl wounldn't changed his fate.

the second one is carrie's understanding of life. carrie didn't bear hard life and hard toil. she pursued money and enjoyment. she realized she never get what she want as a poor girl. so what she need to do is to get money and achieve high status. so she lost herself in this pursuing.

  Carrie的人生悲剧也是当时女性被物化的社会现象的缩影。农村女性为了生计，为了追求物质幸福而不论道德、取悦攀附男性、出卖自己的肉体和灵魂。这种行为就如交易，让自己变成有价值、讨喜的商品来获取利益。

  我认为影响Carrie的外界因素，还有物欲主义、消费主义、享乐主义引领下城市道德标准的滑坡。Carrie位于这种失控的道德边缘，认为追求物质幸福等同于追求个人幸福，也是大城市“适者生存”的自然法则。同时，在当时的男权社会下，处于弱势群体的年轻貌美的女性，应该如何生存，如何摆脱男性凝视，如何不依附于男性而取得社会地位与价值，也是我们值得深思的问题。
