The Advventure of the Sussex V

I have read “the adventures of Sherlock Holmes”when I was still in primary school,however even if my intelligence has been improved as time goes on,it remains a treasure for me to explore.

 Narrated by Watson,”the adventure of the Sussex Vampire”show us a special adventure among all the experience of Holmes as it concerns a kind of magic power.Sherlock Holmes and Watson received a letter to ask for help by a man called Robert Ferguson.He claimed that he encountered a miserable tragedy that his attractive wife turned out to be a vampire and she was witnessed absorbing blood from the neck of her baby.However,only after several hours’ investigation did Sherlock come up with the conclusion that the man’s elder son attacked his brother with a poisonous weapon and what the woman did was to save her baby.The truth not only shocked the poor man who love his elder son so much,but also surprise me.

 Holmes conquered me withe his striking ability to break a case.Actually Holmes had almost find the truth before they went to Robert’s house.He came to the man’s house just to confirm his guess.Only by checking the south American utensils and weapons hung on the wall,watching the dog with paralysis and seeing the reflection on the window when the elder boy talked with his father about his brother did Holmes figure out the whole process of the crime.I can’t understand why he can know what had happened merely with those clues.Maybe It need thousands times of practice for him to get this ability.Maybe that’s where Holmes’ charms lie.Just as Robert said in the book”For heaven’s sake,if you can see the truth in in this matter,do not keep me in suspense.”Holmes’s mind moves fast and many people don’t have the ability to catch up with him.the character in the book and the readers out the book are both anxious to wait for the truth,however every time Holmes faces both obstacles and worried people with his poised nature.

 Once I asked myself a question like that”why “the adventures of Sherlock Holmes” is narrated by Watson?”From my perspective,there are two main reason resulting in this phenomeno.Fisrt of all,it can add the reliability to the story.It seems that someone had witnessed everything Holmes had done and kept a record of them.If Holmes told the whole story himself,we may think the story is a little subjective and maybe some details are not true.It seems that we are going through all the case with Holmes  by looking from the eyes of Watson.What’s more,sometimes Watson couldn’t catch up with Holmes’s thought,which highlight the acumen of Holmes.With comparison,this method has its advantage to make the Holmes’s character more vivid.That’s the advantage of the third narration.

 There are three books about Sherlock Holmes in Aiyangcong,”His last bow”,”the adventure of the Sussex Vampire” and “the final problem”.the reason why I chose this book to write down my review is that this book is the most vivid one among the three books.It shows us envy can drive one crazy.Robert married her present wife after his wife died.The woman gave birth to a baby.his elder boy was disabled after an accident and he hate the healthy and beautiful brother.He afraid his brother will rob the love and care of his father from him.So he attacked his brother with a poisonous weapon.It is said that envy is one of the seven most horrible emotions of human.In the reality,many people will do some impulse thing which will make them regretful later just because of envy.We must think twice before we decide to so something.Why we have the emotion of envy?Because we compare ourselves with others.We should know that there is no same two leaves in the world.Everyone has their own strengths and weakness.We shouldn’t focus on others strengths and overlook ourselves.We should wary that everyone has some lovely places.Comparison sometimes can be the power to motive ourselves to be a better one.But we can’t lost in comparison.Don’t let it be the source of your pain.If the boy in the book know how to pardon other,maybe there is a another ending.

 I have to say that”the adventure of the Sussex Vampire”is really a good recommend for you if you want to find something meaningful and interesting to spend your boring time.You will never get tired of this series of books.Reading”the adventure of the Sherlock Holmes”,you will get into a new and magical world.So,come and join me!
