I
have only read one-tenth of Robinson
Crusoe so far, but this book has already left a deep impression
on me.
The
story tells about Robinson, a young man who loves sailing. He
ignores his father’s advice and goes out to sea many times. In the
early pages I read, he meets lots of dangerous troubles on the boat
and even gets caught by pirates. Every time he suffers hardships, he
feels regretful and misses the peaceful life at home. However, he
still cannot give up his dream of travelling on the ocean.
From
what I’ve read, I think Robinson is a brave but stubborn person. He
dares to chase his dream, yet he does not listen to his family’s
kind warnings, which brings him plenty of trouble. This part makes
me realize that we should stick to our dreams, but we also need to
listen to others’ reasonable suggestions and think carefully before
making big decisions.
I
am looking forward to reading the rest of the book to see what
difficult experiences Robinson will go through later on the lonely island.
