Pride and Prejudice’s themes remain strikingly relevant. Darcy’s pride
in his social rank and Elizabeth’s prejudice against his arrogance
mirror the biases we hold today—judging others by status, appearance, or
first impressions. Austen shows how these flaws breed misunderstandings,
while empathy and self - reflection bridge divides. As Darcy and
Elizabeth grow to see beyond surface judgments, the novel urges modern
readers to examine their own prejudices. It teaches that true connection
comes from seeing others’ hearts, a lesson as vital now as it was in
Austen’s time.
