刘赢阳

One of the most striking aspects of the novel is Huck's internal struggle between what he has been taught is "right" and what his conscience tells him is morally just. Raised in a society that condones slavery and racial discrimination, Huck initially believes that helping Jim, a runaway slave, is a sin.
