理智与情感
陈敬琨
Jane ·Austen's contrasting personalities and fates profoundly reveals
the importance of the balance between reason and emotion for personal
well-being. Eleanor's sanity allows her to navigate complex
relationships with ease, and ultimately to true happiness; Marianne, on
the other hand, experienced a lot of unnecessary pain because she was
too emotional. However, the author does not completely deny the value of
emotion. Emotions are an integral part of human beings, and they give
life warmth and color. Jane · advocates a balance: finding the right
balance between fiery emotions and calm reason, neither suppressing
one's own emotions nor being swayed by them.
