In 'The Time Machine,' H.G. Wells takes us on a journey to the year AD 802701, where we encounter two distinct human species: the Eloi and the Morlocks. The Eloi, who are superficially attractive but ultimately weak and indolent, represent the degenerate descendants of humanity, while the Morlocks are the real power behind the scenes, living underground and preying on the Eloi at night. The novel is a reflection of Wells's own socialist beliefs and his concerns about the future of society.
