I. Reading Background School and Society is a classic educational book
by John Dewey, first published in 1915. This book mainly explores the
relationship between school and community, school and life, and school
and society, and how to make school and community, school and life, and
school and society more closely linked through educational reform. In
this reading, I am mainly attracted by the theme and ideas of this book.
Through reading this book, I want to understand the relationship between
education and society more deeply, and how to promote the progress and
development of society through educational reform. II. Reading Process
In reading this book, I used the following methods: 1. Key points for
intensive reading: In order to understand the author's viewpoints and
thoughts, I read the key chapters and paragraphs in the book, such as
the author's views on the relationship between education and society,
and the discussion on the connection between school and life. 2. Skim
the other sections: For the other less important chapters, I skimmed
them quickly, and got a good grasp of the general framework and main
ideas. 3. Notes and Summary: In the reading process, I keep taking notes
and summary, record my own ideas and feelings, but also sort out some
important knowledge points. III. Reading Gains Through this reading, I
mainly gained the following aspects: 1. Gain insight into the
relationship between education and society: This book gave me a deeper
understanding of the relationship between education and society, and
that education is more than just imparting knowledge
