Time Machine Review
The Time machine tells a very simple story. Scientist invented the time machine, witnessed the alienation and disappearance of human beings, experienced all kinds of dangers and finally went back to the time of his. Then he told the story to others.
800,000 years later, in 802,701, humans have conquered nature, are free from disease, hunger, and any pressure to survive, and have become carefree and beautiful and innocent Eloi people.Tens of thousands of years of ease have left them unaware of threats, deprived of the creativity, curiosity, intelligence that mankind has always depended on, and degraded the purest art forms of music and poetry to simple fragments.
There are also another kind of human beings underground, the Morlocks, the descendants of workers who work underground, after hundreds of thousands of years of evolution they have become white monkey-like creatures, can no longer adapt to the light, but live in darkness forever. They keep the world running, they produce supplies for the Eloi on Earth, but they feed on the Eloi.
In The Time Machine, Welles did not use any names, making the story of time travel out of a specific time and scene, and becoming a more remote and universal fable, constituting Welles's simple and meaningful personal style.
