The Inspiration of“Jane Eyre”to Women
王妍萱
The first time I read "Jane Eyre" was in my first year of
junior high school. At that time, I only read this book to complete the
task and write the so-called summer homework assigned by the teacher.
When I was young, I was confused and could read very little. I could not
understand the love between Jane Eyre and Rochester, nor what the author
wanted to bring us. Now, I went to college and opened this book again,
my mind has become very complex, and my thinking is more profound than
ever. This time I read this book, I saw a lot of inspirational content
for our women. This book tells us that one of the reasons that can
inspire women is that the beauty of women lies not in their appearance
but in their hearts. Jane Eyre is an unattractive girl, and may not even
conform to the public's aesthetic at that time, but she has really
explained what is called "the beauty of women is emitted from the
inside out" with her unique personality charm. Before going to
Lowood Charity School, the ten-year-old girl was pitifully thin. In
addition to being abused by her aunt, she was also bullied by her
cousins. When she rebelled against her aunt and expressed her
stubbornness against the injustice of fate, she became a Jane Eyre with
independent personality and refined soul. In the face of hunger and
cold, Jane Eyre is still eager to read her favorite books, communicate
with her recognized friends, and strive to make every subject top.
Because of the things that these people have contacted and worked hard
to accomplish, Jane Eyre, eight years later, not only has the good
qualities of Miss Temple, but also integrates all kinds of skills. It is
precisely because of these things attached to the bone and brain that
Jane knocked on the door of love with Mr. Rochester. She exudes unique
personality charm in her bones, deeply attracted Rochester, and let
Rochester's lonely soul find a shelter. Although Jane Eyre's appearance
is not as beautiful as people say, Rochester is haunted by her kindness,
knowledge, self-esteem and independence. This tells women that even
without beautiful appearance, as long as the heart is good enough, they
can live with beautiful love, dignity and choice, and live as they like.
Another reason this book tells us is that women can also be indomitable
and rational. Jane Eyre can be sent to a charity school by her aunt,
which is the result of her constant resistance. In school study, Jane
Eyre's thought became more mature. She is constantly learning knowledge
and broadening her horizons. The object of her resistance has changed
from bullying and abusing her aunt's family to the social environment at
that time. Because of the constant help of many people around Jane Eyre,
she gradually transformed her resistance in her nature into rational
restraint. Jane Eyre would not choose to endure a small thing when she
was beaten, so she said: "If I were you, I would fight against her;
if she hit me with that whip, I would take it from her hand and break it
in her face." This fully expresses Jane Eyre's noble qualities of
never yielding, tenacity and perseverance and never bow to fate in her
long-term relationship with Miss Temple, Jane Eyre has learned a lot of
good characters, especially in terms of ideology. Miss Temple is a
perfect female image in all aspects. She has both solid and rich
theoretical knowledge and high moral cultivation, and it is also one of
the main reasons that lead Jane's love from intense mania to rational
restraint. Through her study and life in the charity school, Jane Eyre
has developed a good character of magnanimity, strong tolerance,
rational restraint, and sufficient knowledge. At this time, her unique
personality has begun to take shape, which can be easily seen from her
speech behavior. Jane Eyre has a strong pursuit of freedom, equality and
respect in her heart, so she would rather live a poor life in a charity
school than go back to her aunt's home to enjoy the humiliating life of
food and clothing. It is worth learning from women who are indomitable
but always hold the ideal state. Another reason that this book
enlightens women is that women's kindness must be a little sharp and
principled. I once heard a saying: kindness is the noblest quality of a
person. Jane Eyre is a person with this noble quality. Because of this
quality, she has been appreciated by many people, including Rochester's
love. But Jane Eyre's goodness is not stupid, but principled. And
because of adhering to such principles, her kindness has added a bit of
tenacity, which makes her helpless and admirable at the same time. When
she learned that the crazy woman in the attic was Rochester's wife, she
was ready to leave. When Rochester pitifully confided all this to Jane,
she had a fierce psychological struggle with herself because she loved
him. Several times, she couldn't help staying. But there was a voice in
her heart that told her that she could not. As an independent woman with
principles, she insisted on her principles and chose to leave, but
because of the goodness of her bones, she also chose to forgive
Rochester for cheating on her. Of course, Jane Eyre's kindness is far
more than reflected in Mr. Rochester. As the daughter of a poor priest,
Jane suffered a lot of unfair treatment at her aunt's home in her
childhood. Cousin and cousin beat and scolded her, and aunt abused her.
When treating her, she often locked her in the red house in the attic
alone. Fear and loneliness attacked her at any time. However, many years
later, she chose to forgive those who had hurt her. But to forgive is to
forgive, Jane Eyre did not have a play with the Rhett family to
"turn a fight into a friendship". This is very consistent with
Jane's nature. Her character, her kindness, is always full of
stubbornness, always with a bit of edge. It is because Jane Eyre has
always been very principled, no matter work or love, that she can better
be herself and stick to herself. As a girl, your kindness must be sharp,
because this sharp edge is both principle and armor, which can protect
you from being easily hurt and changed by everything around you.
