Gulliver's Travels is a satirical novel by Swift, a famous British writer. This book is praised as a model of English. One of the most important things we can learn is the equality, kindness and integrity of Houyhnms.
There are no words for evil at all in the language of Houyhnms. There is no debate about finding problems (except what to do with Yahoo!), and the author has a hard time explaining them to his horse owner when he tells them about them. A preliminary idea of them can be found in their language: what a benevolent people they are! When the master saw his special Yahoo, he treated it like the dominant Houy horse of the country. Every day to accompany him to chat, chat, the author's life is very good. If it were me, I would be greatly indebted to them. Their qualities are rare in the world, so the author takes them to heart. When he left, he had told his master that he would spread the qualities of Houyhnms throughout all the countries under Yahoo! 's rule, and make them an example. Once, while the author was in the country, he and his host were talking about the Yahoo War (since the country was always peaceful because of its good character) and the host did not know what war was! This surprised the author, and even I was eager to see why. It turned out that the language of this country had no words for war. The master said, "You could not have killed so many people by biting each other." The author was immediately surprised and told him about the new guns, bullets and so on in his country. There is no war in the country, which further reflects how noble their qualities are. I not only praise them, but also have some admiration for them.
The author's experience in Lilliput also makes us feel wonderful while writing the cruel war. When he was in Lilliput, he took part in the war with the neighboring countries and defeated the troops of the neighboring countries with his huge height (compared with Lilliput people). The leaders of the neighboring countries were surprised that there was a giant who could destroy our armed forces. In this war, the author showed that he was not afraid of difficulties and went forward bravely. These qualities were highlighted in the fear of his enemies. We should also learn from this author when we encounter difficulties in our life. Always retreat from difficulties, in some cases is to delay time, ignore but more difficult, let you continue to retreat...... As we all know, this is a vicious cycle. There is also a process: difficulties suddenly come, you use your courage to overcome it, make him into a favorable condition, do you like it? So, in the face of difficulties, two words - rush!
What's the irony? When he wrote about the King of Great Britain at that time, he quietly betrayed irony in the words, and when he told about himself, he also used his own characteristics to satirize the bad guys.
Although the length of this book is not very long, but in the author's travel across the ocean reflected the social atmosphere of corruption at that time, each story left a deep impression on me.
