老人与海书评

Man can be destroyed, but not defeated. After reading the novel
"The Old Man and the Sea," this sentence is the best sentence
of the whole book, which is worth reflecting on. Failure is terrible in
the eyes of many people, but a great man once said that obstacles and
failures are the most stable stepping stone to success. If even failure
can not knock me down, but I step on the foot, then success must belong
to me. The novle "The Old Man and the Sea" tells the
story of an old fisherman named Santiago who has not caught a fish for
eighty-four days. But he still refused to give up and struggled to catch
an 18-foot long, 1,500 pounds of marlin on the eighty-fifth day in the
end.The big fish dragged the boat out to the sea, and the old man didn’t
lose his heart and still held on, even when there was no water, no food,
no weapons, no helpers with his left hand cramped. After two days and
nights, he finally killed the big fish and tied it to the side of the
boat. But many sharks immediately came for his prize. He killed them all,
one by one, until only a broken tiller remained as a weapon. As a
result, the big fish was still doomed to be eaten. Finally, the old man
was exhausted and dragged back a pair of fish bones. When he got home
and lay in bed, he had to find the good old days in his dreams to forget
the harsh reality. Santiago didn't catch the book in the end, and
some would say he failed. Indeed Santiago failed physically, but he was
a victor spiritually, because his spirit was eternal. And he would never
succumb to fate, no matter how hard life was. Such a spirit was more
valuable than all matter. This spirit has taught me that people need the
power of spirit, and without it, man will be no different from the
walking dead.If Santiago lost that power, he would never venture out to
sea again. If I lose the power of spirit, how can I talk about
ambitious ideals. No dream is a luxury that people cannot afford to
spend, so all I need to do is to be firm in my ideals. Even if the road
is stormy and full of thorns, I will definitely come out of my own way
to success. Mr. Lu Xun once said, "A great mind should show such a
spirit— with smiling face to meet the tragic fate, with confident
courage to deal with their own misfortune. " Yes! When I encounter
bad luck and misfortune, instead of complaining about the injustice of
fate, I should pluck up my courage, keep my spirits, and fight against
it with a resolute attitude. The novel “The Old Man and the Sea"
tells us the importance of maintaining hope and optimism, whether it is
windy or rainy, the sun always rise. No matter how bumpy the road in
front of me is, no matter how many more trials and tribulations I have
to go through, never fall into despair. Only with the desire for good
can I become stronger and have more courage to face what will happen. As
the youth in the new era, I will also face a series of difficulties in
life, whether large or small, we should learn from Santiago in the novel
“The Old Man and the Sea” . For a better future, for my own “life of the
big fish” I must struggle relentlessly. In the end, whether be
successful or not, I will win the encouragement and respect of others.
As long as I keep an optimistic attitude and hope in my hearts, the
victory will be mine!
