About Gatsby
The Great Gatsby tells us about the upper society in the United States at that time, an era full of luxury and material desire. Deep in every corner of the society, all exudes the stench of people's crazy pursuit of money and status in this era, class disparity has been the eternal normal of this era. As the hero of the film, Gatsby is worth thousands of dollars, but even if he has a lot of wealth, it can not change the fact that he is from a "poor family", which is one of the factors leading to his tragic ending.
At the beginning of the book, a young man named Nick and another man are telling a story that once happened around him, and the hero of the story is Gatsby. Nick comes to New York from his hometown in the Midwest. Next to his house is Gatsby's luxurious mansion, where a grand party is held every night, and it is at this party that Nick meets Gatsby. However, after a period of contact, Nick found that Gatsby always had a love in his heart, and the person who lived in his heart was Daisy, and it was his attachment to this love that made him go on a road of no return until the end of his life. One of the most striking themes in the film is disillusionment. Gatsby was not born in a big family. He supported his life by hard work every day. When he was young, as a second lieutenant, he fell in love with a girl named Daisy. However, due to the outbreak of the World War, they were separated by Yin and Yang, which seemed to be accidental but inevitable. Daisy's waiting did not get the beauty she expected after all, and her heart was loyal to love
The undying pursuit also seems to slowly rot and become disillusioned, which is the first "disillusionment" in the film. The second "disillusionment" in the film is gatsby's death. After learning that Daisy married Tom, a rich young man from a rich family, Gatsby wanted to get rich. He firmly believed that money made Daisy lose her original innocence and kindness. Only wealth could wake Daisy up and let her return to his side. A few years later, Gatsby did become a millionaire. He worked all night and spent money like water. He wanted to get Daisy's attention and get the hot eyes that looked straight into his heart. He did, but this was also the beginning of the tragedy. Daisy was no longer the original Daisy. She just treated Gatsby as a filler and victim of her empty soul.
The third "disillusionment" in the book is Nick's dim view of the world. As Gatsby's most sincere and heart-to-heart friend, Nick plays a key role in the whole film and is also a witness of the whole tragedy. When Daisy was buried by the color of sky dress, she cried, but she never say anything about five years ago, when Daisy driving and killed her husband's mistress, but that gatsby was shot and killed innocent, Nick began to detect a Daisy heart to the love of the pure long gone, leaving only for money to position admired, The emptiness of the heart had grown infinitely larger on the day of parting, and at Gatsby's funeral. Nick witnessed the human reality of the empty feelings, deeply disgusted, so with a tragic mood, away from the hustle and bustle, indifferent, empty, false metropolis, and sadly back home.
