Although he began to beat the Marlins, in the end, the marlin was eaten by sharks, and he only came back to shore with the skeleton of the marlin, meaning the sharks were the winner. But in the eyes of idealists, the old man is the winner. Because he never surrendered to the sea and the shark. As the music master Beethoven said, "I can be destroyed, but I can't be conquered."
