Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen. The novel describes the five daughters of the young squire Bennett, the protagonist is the second daughter Elizabeth. She met Darcy at the dance, but she had heard of his pride, and had been repulsed by him. Pride and Prejudice overcame this tendency and came close to modern life. In her novel, she uses comedy to express serious criticism of life and explores the psychological process of the heroine's self-discovery from love to marriage. The marriage between the heroine and Darcy is a happy marriage which is praised by the author as "setting an example for all lovers".After a long struggle, Elizabeth removed her prejudice against him.Darcy's arrogance is actually a reflection of the difference in status. As long as such arrogance exists, there can be no common feelings between Darcy and Elizabeth, nor an ideal marriage. Later, Elizabeth witnessed Darcy's behavior and a series of actions, especially saw that he changed his proud and arrogant manner, cleared away the misunderstanding and prejudice, and thus concluded a happy marriage with him. Elizabeth's different attitude to Darcy's proposal of marriage, in fact, reflects women's pursuit of personal independence and equal rights.
