In chapter 6, the egg which Alice took out of the shop grew larger and larger and became like a human. Since “Humpty Dumpty” was written a hundred times in his enormous face, Alice was sure that his name is Humpty Dumpty. They had a conversation concerning several subjects such as name, age, words, poems and so on. In the conversation, I feel that Humpty Dumpty is arrogant and irritable, while Alice treated him cautiously. I think the most interesting thing in this chapter is the conversation about the names’ meaning. Humpty Dumpty asked Alice’s name and pointed out that each name should mean something.
As for him, “Humpty Dumpty” means the shape he is. In line with the characteristics of eggs, this description is a very vivid.
