Chapter 6
杨婉怡
This chapter tells the story about Alice and Humpty Humpty.Though I don't know exactly what his name means , I can still imagine the scene that he talks with Alice. He is created by an egg who at the beginning provokes Alice very much. Then they try to change another topic, such as age and cravat. But it's still of no use at all,for they still can not get along well with each other. At last , fortunately, they finds the common land——poetry. Alice shares a poem containing a number of difficult words with Humpty Humpty, who surpsingly understands all the hard words. Then he explains the words to Alice, making Alicr so excited. Finally, Humpty disappears with no sign following that he recites a poem for Alice .
This chapter depicts a vivid pictures of the conversation, among which I also found out some native expressions impressing me a lot. I am very willing to share them with you!
They are as following:
1.'What tremendously easy riddles you ask!' Humpty Dumpty growled out. 'Of course I don't think so! Why, if ever I DID fall off—which there's no chance of—but IF I did—' Here he pursed his lips and looked so solemn and grand that Alice could hardly help laughing.
'IF
2.'MUST a name mean something?' Alice asked doubtfully.
3.Humpty Dumpty raised his voice almost to a scream as he repeated this verse, and Alice thought with a shudder.
